He is not all black still beautiful. He is 16 and still takes a wild run through the house. Found him under a house about nine weeks old.

My Grandson got his first cat from the Roseville, CA SPCA this week. His name is Hardy. Looks like he is fitting in really well. He will be a little cat sister on Friday when she is ready to come home on Friday

Introducing "Hardy" my new Grandkitty. My daughter just adopted him from the Roseville, CA SPCA today. He will be getting a younger sister but she won't be ready to go home till Friday.

I had a white cat that would get greasy knots in his fur. I would use a flea comb to get them out. Don't know what caused it because he was young. It would come out in globs with the comb. Would love to see pictures.

Keep them in their cages while traveling and setting up. They and slip out very easy especially with only one of you to watch. Be care with slides they like to hide behind them. If you keep them caged while driving you won't have to worry about them getting up in the dash.

I had taken in a kitten once and his hair was falling out down to the scalp. It turned out he had Ringworm. What a mess. I got it on my face and the other cats got it too.

RE: Traveling en-route with cats
If you are pulling a trailer they need to be in an enclosed carrier or cage in the vehicle, not the trailer. If you are driving a MH then they should still be kept in a carrier and kept there till set up so they are safe from escaping or getting behind a slide. My 16 year old will travel for hours in his carrier and when we stop he comes out for potty brakes just like us. He started RVing when he was 12. I keep him in till all slides are out and we are level and done running in and out the door. He rides behind the passenger seat and can see DH all the time. It would noisy and scary for them to ride in the trailer and hot.

When Socks was about two he came up missing on a Friday afternoon. Looked forever and no Socks. I left the bedroom window open all night so if he came home he would come through it. The next day I washed a load of clothes and opened the dryer and there he was sitting there looking at as if to say "its about time". Someone (my teen daughter) dried some clothes and opened it to take one item out and left it open and he thought it was a good place to take a warm nap. Someone came along and shut the door. We usually went out on town on weekends and happened to stay home that weekend. Good thing I had laundry to do. He is now 16.

RE: It's official...
For soome reason Socks has been getting me at 3:30 to eat canned food. He will put his face in mine and cry till I get up. Oh well he's only 16 so I will live with it. He rides in his carrier and lives on the dash when parked. Started Rving when he was 12.

RE: Pet hair removal...what do you find works?
I use a sticky lint roller that you wash under running water for cat hair. Got it at Walgreens. Have to use it over and over but works good.
